Christmas presents have a long history, from ancient Roman times, more than 2000 years ago, long before the spread of Christianity… In ancient Roman times, from 17 to 24 December, during the Saturnalia, the festival of the god of agriculture, all people stopped working, ate, danced and made merry, and gave each other gifts, which was the beginning of Christmas gift-giving.
🎄Why do we put Christmas presents in socks?
It comes from the legend of St Nicholas, who is said to be the model for Father Christmas… A poor family wanted to peddle their eldest daughter to marry off their second and third daughters. When St Nicholas found out, he secretly threw a bag of gold coins through the window to help the family. The gold coins “snuck” into the daughter’s socks, which she had hung out to dry next to the fireplace. With the money, the three daughters were happily married. This legend was passed down through the generations, and Father Christmas eventually began to put gifts in socks hanging from fireplaces and beds.
Why not give your special friends, family, and loved ones a Christmas present of socks as a token of your appreciation and love? Quality socks, which are hard to buy for yourself, make the perfect Christmas gift. Free handsome gift wrapping in December.

This time, four Taiwanese people living in Tokyo visited our company and enjoyed a factory tour, an experience of making original socks, watching a video of the production process and behind-the-scenes of sock making in the theater room, making Christmas ornaments out of sock scraps, shopping at the store, and more…and when they left…they took their socks and Christmas ornaments home with them When they left, they were able to take home the socks and Christmas ornaments they had made and experience a lot 😊
The socks coming out of the knitting machine made us squeal with delight, and we also had a lot of fun at the Rosso workshop, where we sewed the ends of the knitted tube to make the toe part, and had a lot of fun. We were so happy to see them waving to us until they couldn’t see the car when they left.
We hope to continue to make the Miyake-cho experience more exciting as we prepare for the full-scale launch of the tour and the charms of Miyake-cho along with the production of Suzuki socks 🧦✨
